You can see accurate depictions of everyday life and what was popular at the time. It could be an amazing lesson about not only learning the art style of a culture but also learning about different subjects in those periods of time.
Visiting these ruins can also show how things haven’t changed much in the hundreds of years after the explosion, since there are still ruins in the city that show people wrote their name and “was here” in public restrooms. The human race is nothing if not consistent.
Florence
This is the spot to take any artist with a love of the Renaissance. It was the center of the Renaissance, and many of the major artworks that were produced during that period, such as the statue of David, are housed in the city.
As home to dozens of cathedrals with phenomenal and awe-inspiring architecture, it’s also the perfect stop for any artist whose interests lie in architecture instead of on a canvas.
If you ever tire of walking around the city to see the sights, you can always take a short trip to the countryside where they offer a spa to rest your bones from all of that walking. Trieste
If you’re looking for something a little more off the beaten path, as opposed to Rome and Florence, then Trieste might be the perfect location for you. Not many people know about it, but it’s quickly becoming an amazing, upcoming vacation destination thanks to its amazing placement on the northeastern shore of the country and ancient locales that have been preserved against the test of time.
If you have a thespian in the family, then they’ll love exploring the ancient theater where speeches would be given or theatrical performances put on for all of the people of the city.
Mosaics give a look into another art form that visual artists can study and learn from.
The food scene is also amazing for any aspiring culinarians, with a mishmash of cultures coming together to make a taste that’s completely unique and an experience you’ll especially appreciate if you’re into fusion eats.
Milan
If your artist is a budding fashion designer, then this is the destination for them. It’s one of the fashion capitals of the world, where dozens of fashion shows attract the eyes and attention of the world.
It also happens to be where da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper, is housed, so be sure to snag tickets as soon as you can for that attraction! Your visit will be brief for the time you spent hunting those tickets down, but it’s entirely worth it.
If you have the time and money to spare, try to catch a performance at the Teatro alla Scala, a famous opera house in the city. The arts are so broad and expansive in their reach that maybe your little artist will fall in love with the idea of set design, as it’s some of the most amazing in the world.
